Annual McCoy Pottery Collector's Society
Show & Tell - 2004
|
 |
The Show and Tell event is a regular feature of our
Annual McCoy Pottery Collector's Society Reunion. This
event provides an opportunity for all members of the Society
to see many special pieces every year, shared by other
members of the Society. The Show & Tell will again be
held in conjunction with our banquet, which will be on
Monday, July 12th, 2004. Doors will open at 5:30PM. The
location has changed this year to the EagleSticks Golf
Club facility, 2655 Maysville Pike (Highway 22), in Zanesville,
Ohio. (Phone: 800-782-4493) A map for directions to EagleSticks
Golf Club will be included with your registration materials
and can be found on their web site at www.eaglesticksgolf.com.
Each
attendee is cordially invited to add their special piece
to the Show & Tell display. The piece can be any authentic
but uncommon piece of McCoy pottery. Uncommon can mean
not only a difficult pottery shape piece but may be an
unusual or non-production glaze coloring or decoration.
All pieces must have been produced by J.W. McCoy, Nelson
McCoy or Brush-McCoy.
Please
note that the "Tell" part of the Show & Tell is silent;
you do not have to make an oral presentation. Just simply
fill out the Entry Form where you can include a few comments
to share about your piece with all the attendees. The
simple form for this purpose will be provided in the registration
packet that you will receive at registration and extra
forms will also be available at the banquet that evening.
In addition, the form may be downloaded and printed from
the Society web site www.mccoycollectorssociety.org.
All
attendees that are putting an entry into the Show & Tell
display, are invited to bring your display items, along
with your completed forms, anytime after 5:00PM. Doors
open to all attendees at 5:30PM. From 5:30PM to dinner,
this time is set aside for all members to view and read
about all the entries. Attendees will also get an opportunity
for a final peek at the entries for about 30 minutes following
the conclusion of the program. Remember to bring your
camera. You are welcome to photo the Show & Tell items
for future reference and enjoyment.
In
keeping with our theme for this year's Reunion- The Nifty
Fifties, there will also be a large display at the banquet
of approximately 70-80 of the most desirable production
pieces made by the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company during
the 1950s for your enjoyment.
It
is always great fun for all to see the very special pieces
shared in the Show & Tell display. Together with the large
display of high desirable product pieces from the "Nifty
Fifties", this year should prove to be another outstanding
and educational event.
Looking
forward to seeing everyone there for another exciting
time,
Your
2004 Show & Tell Committee
